Mom and Daughter love

A few months back, I had the opportunity to photograph a mother/daughter trip. The story begins on Facebook, yes on Facebook! We met on a group through a trading post where Kendra and I exchanged services. She has an amazing business where she teaches people how to get into real estate

So, months after our little trade work, Kendra contacted me to document hers and her mom's annual trip. This year they traveled to Arizona and Kendra wanted to surprise her mom with a fun/different way to document their vacation.

I followed Kendra and her mom for two-ish days in Phoenix Arizona and I had so so so much fun documenting their love.

The fun thing about documentary sessions is that I get to learn so much about their family and I get to photograph them in their essence. After spending so many hours together, they get so comfortable with me that they forget I'm there.

Kendra and her mom received both an album with their photos and their reaction and comments about the photos remind me why I do what I do

Airport greeting. The anticipation made things so exciting.

Miraval encourages you to write a letter to yourself and they'll mail it to you 6 months from your visit. This exercise invites you to reflect and be grateful for who you became and the things you learned during your transformative visit

According to Kendra, their Goodwill visits are a must when traveling and when visiting each other.

Kendra's mom is a quilter and they found a quilt store, of course, they couldn't give up the opportunity to purchase some fun fabrics. While mom put together her fabrics, Kendra got some work done

During our time together, they talked about Kendra still sitting on her mom's lap. Something she said she'll never stop doing. I was excited to be able to capture this moment when it happened. This goes to show we're never too old to sit on mom's lap

Our trip ended with a beautiful dinner and a reflective conversation. It was sad to part ways after spending so much time with these incredible women full of love.

And this trip reminds me why I photograph these moments, the unedited, the unposed, the real and the raw. The emotional and the fun ones. Being able to capture these moments for my clients and giving them a reminder about this moment in time is worth every second.

This is the type of storytelling that makes my heart sing.
